Happy Birthday Jessica!

Whew! Hot hot hot it is here. It's my middle child's birthday this week and I have been busily prepping for her party (so glad she chose a pool party, it is scorching over here at the mo). So, instead of scrapping I've been making her card, her lolly bags and a table decoration.
Jessica's Birthday Card:
I used a lovely imaginisce paper, a large Heidi Grace chipboard heart (painted and distressed then coated with rock candy), Prima flowers and Prima lace. Happy Birthday sweetie pie.

For the lolly bags, I cut boxes using the silhouette (great gadget that is!!!) and used a quickutz 4x4 pop up flower die (the lollipop flower idea was posted on the quickutz blog recently), and the centres are chupa chup lollipops. For the food table, I made a chupa chup tree so the girls can pick their own lollipops...
I always wanted my own lollipop tree as a kid LOL!

A Leap Of Faith

Hi all...Just wanted to share this LO with you. It is my son (aged 5) leaping off the end of the Kalbarri Jetty. It was one of those photos...you either capture it or not - no do overs with this sort of moment. I was so happy that I happened to have the camera on a fast shutter speed and snapped at the right moment to capture this little step towards manhood - overcoming his fear to jump.

The papers are Basic Grey from an older range - Recess. The bird and branch are both Scrapware that I purchased from My2Angels. The title is a mix of stickers from the same Basic Grey range, and the word 'faith' is die cut from my new Quickutz Heidi Swapp Handwriting Exclusive font. I love the mix of vibrant colours in this!

Thanks for looking x

Happy V-Day Bloggers!

Happy V-Day everyone...just a little post to spread the love and share my Valentine Day Design Team LO's for My2Angels...

Firstly, one of Me and my DH...

Papers used: Rose Moka Equinoxe Baroque, Carolee's Creations Adorn It XOXO paper, Making Memories Mistletoe Pattern Stripe. Ribbons used: red velvet ric rac, black velvet with silicon swirls, black cotton lace, thin red satin ribbon. Title: Buzz and Bloom Chipboard - Be Mine, Love silver rhinestone bling words. Embellishments: Red scroll felt hearts, SBL cuts chipboard - Black Long Stemmed Bud, Stemmed Star Flowers - red, small metal heart charm.

I distressed and inked the XOXO paper and tucked some black lace in there for a more romantic feel to the page. The Be Mine title was inked with red ink, coated with red kindyglitz, then finished off with a coating of dimensional magic. I adhered it at the bottom with PVA and foam 3-D tape at the top to really make it stand out on the page. I left the black chipboard Long Stemmed Bud untouched, and layered some gorgeous stemmed star flowers along it. The Love silver rhinestone bling word will stick to just about anything - I stuck it over the top of velvet ribbon on this page.

Now this LO is one of my gorgeous little son when he was four, at a kindy concert...

Papers used: black cardstock, Crate Paper Cottage Collection Path, Carolee's Creations Adorn It XOXO paper, Making Memories Mistletoe Pattern Stripe. Ribbons used: wide black ric rac. Title: Buzz and Bloom Chipboard - Be Mine. Embellishments: chipboard butterflies, prima say it with crystals photo corners, mulberry paper flower, heart from Buzz and Bloom Chipboard - Be Mine pack.

The title is from the Buzz and Bloom Be Mine pack - I inked the pieces then coated them with Tim Holtz crackle accents. The rhinestone photo corners are ready made, but you can make your own using a flourish stamp and versamark or hand drawing your own design, making the dots lightly with pencil, then adhere rhinestones. The butterflies are chipboard that have been inked with red ink, embossed with the cuttlebug script embossing folder, then inked again with black ink. The grey mulberry flower was stamped with a flourish stamp and black ink.

I hope you all had a lovely V-day, whatever you did. Off to have V-Day chinese for tea - and Gung hee fatt choi to all my chinese friends for the year of the Tiger. :-)

Don't you just love birthday parties..?

I do. I love the whole kit and caboodle - from making the invitations to decorating and putting together loot bags. My lovely daughter's birthday is coming up soon (too soon! they seem to be growing up waaaay too fast!) and I popped on to share the party invites I have been making for her.

I used my Silhouette to cut the cupcakes, heart border and you're invited out. The dotty background is a cuttlebug embossing folder.

Nothing says "birthday" quite like cupcakes!!!
Bye for now...I still have 6 more of these little invite cards to make...I will blog again later this weekend (promise!), hopefully with my V-day DT layouts to share. x

Week 1 of School is Done..and a couple of DT Layouts to Celebrate

Well Week 1 is done - all settled -all happy (and so are we with the wonderful teachers we have) so all is right in my little world. Tracy at My2Angels has posted our Back To School projects so I can finally start revealing some of my DT layouts YAY! Here are my first two Back To School.. (soz everyone...you will have to wait for my lovey V-day ones a *little* longer...)

I got the idea for this after getting all the back to school items out to label and my children walked through and said 'Look at all this stuff!' and started looking at it. So what did I do? Grabbed my camera and my stepstool and took photos of course! For this page I used Pink Paislee Cupid Bullseye paper. I distressed it and lightly inked the edges. I used a piece of Cosmo Cricket Hello Sunshine Hop Scotch paper for the edging and covered the join with thick black ric rac .The house, tree and fence are die cuts using Quickutz dies and cut from thin chipboard. If you like these then Tracy has some Buzz and Bloom you can use to do this: the chipboard set it a border but hey, why not chop it up and you are left with loads of wonderful and useful chip shapes!!! I painted mine with acrylic paints then finished them off with inking and Tim Holtz crackle accents (coming in store soon - very soon!!!). I added the ABC book charm for whimsy. The title is AC Thickers Jewelry Box, and the journalling is Carolee's Creations Adorn It Tiny Black Letters. I ripped a page out of a note book, ripped it, glimmermisted it and stuck the letters on. And here's the close ups...

My next page was simply 2010 because it was the usual first day of school pic that we all seem to snap.

I used Cosmo Cricket papers for this one - Hello Sunshine Hop Scotch, and Get Happy Pop. I used rainbow grosgrain to hide the join. The title is from die cut numbers and Carolee's Creations Word Play stickers - tiny worn retro. The little book was really simple - a rectangle of coloured paper, 2 smaller rectangles of white paper, fold them in half and staple along the fold et voila! A book. I have a bit of a bling obsession going at the moment so I took some red rhinestones and green rhinestones, traced a circle shape, dotted where I wanted them to go then glued them on in a rainbow look. The butterfly is a chipboard butterfly that has been coated with Tim Holtz crackle paint (antique linen). These paints are so awesome and easy! The messier you paint the better the crackle, so goop it on girls! I added a lovely red scroll felt heart that I had left over from my V-day layouts and it was the perfect place to hang the ABC book charm. The large bright flowers are easy peasy handmade flowers...look HERE for the link to the Pink Paislee blog tutorial that the lovely Tracy posted. I added a bit of kindyglitz for a bit of zing.
Again...the closeups:

yibbida yibbida, that's all folks! (for now)

Whew!! Back at school and we survived - AND my first DT Creations

!!! Ok...so my little bunnikins are back at school (yay! BUT geez I miss having them around...as for how QUIET the house is....kind of spooky...) and I finally have the time to blog - sort of!!! (back at school means I am back at school too LOL)...

So here it is...I would like to share some cards I made as part of the DT for My2Angels...V-day cards... nothing says I Love You quite like a card you have slaved over...

I used some chipboard butterflies (you can find some gorgeous ones HERE in Tracy's store My2Angels) which I inked with red chalk ink. I embossed them using a Cuttlebug Script folder, then I inked lightly with black chalk ink to highlight the embossing. The heart cutout was first painted with red acrylic paint, then daubed over with white acrylic and finished with a Tim Holtz rock candy crackle finish...(where can I get this, you say...? Hmmmm a little birdy told me my favourite online scrap store may have this coming in soon...stay tuned...starts with MY and ends with ANGELS and has a 2 in it somewhere...)
The word LOVE and the heart are Buzz and Bloom chipboard shapes from the Be Mine set. The papers are from Making Memories Mistletoe Pattern (Yes, I used a CHRISTMAS PAPER - but, it WORKED!!) that I cut using a Martha Stewart border punch. The ribbon is a gorgeous black velvet with silicon swirls that was just divine to use.

I used a LOVE shape from the Buzz and Bloom - Be Mine chipboard set from My2Angels and inked it then coated it with dimensional magic. I distressed some gorgeous papers from Carolee's Creations Adorn It XOXO and Making Memories Mistletoe Pattern Stripe paper (seriously good papers and you don't have to do Christmas with it!!!) I love these papers with a choice of pattern - they are so versatile with todays style of scrapping. I finished it off with a heart from the Buzz and Bloom - Be Mine set that I inked with red ink then coated with dimensional magic, and added some gorgeous velvet ribbon from My2Angels Ribbons and Lace section.

I had so much fun with these cards and there is SO MUCH MORE from my kit that is still to come so stay tuned....
Bunniehugs C x
