New Tim Holtz Sizzix Dies

Hi all...just a really quick fly by today. How typical is it that the Postman comes bearing goodies on the day when I don't even have time to stop and breathe let alone play? Well, yep, my new Tim Holtz Alterations Sizzix dies came yesterday - oooh I can't wait to have a proper play with them! Here is a really really uber quick card I threw together using Fanciful Flight and Scallops (sorry about the pic but I snapped it with my mobile phone as the card was being stuck onto a present bag -  running out the door to whisk another one of my children off to yet another birthday party!) And no, I don't use envelopes...I just stick cards onto the front of the present bag as decoration - why hide all your hard work ?

The flower consists of layers of old fabric flowers that I made up way too many of for a project many moons ago, and keep the spares in my "need an emergency flower" stash.
No play for me today... I'm the mum taxi all day today. *sigh*

Easter DT Project

Hi all! Easter is just around the corner (literally) so it's time to get a hippity hop on if you are going to give some handmade goodies. I would like to share with you two cute little Easter Gift Boxes that I have made for my Easter DT project over at My 2 Angels. The cute little boxes are decorated Chinese Takeaway Noodle boxes. These would be sooooo cute filled with chocolate as a present (or filled with buttons or little embellishments for your favourite scrapper!) for Easter.
Blue flower Easter box:
This box has some machine stitching through the middle of the paper detail. The little rabbit is a quickutz die cut. The large flower is a cuttlebug die set that both cuts and embosses and is called Build A Flower.
Embellishments: Scenic Route chipboard button, quickutz die (peek a boo bunny), cuttlebug die (build a flower)

Garden Scene Easter box:
This box has loads of die cuts using quickutz, sizzix and bosskuts dies. The grass strips are all handcut at random heights, and the eggs and grass are layered in to give the illusion of depth.
PRODUCTS USED: Paper: blue coredinations cardstock, yellow coredinations cardstock, pink coredinations cardstock, white coredinations cardstock
Ribbons: yellow ric rac, blue velvet ric rac, general scraps of ribbon from desk.
Embellishments: all die cut...(quickutz: peek a boo bunny & 4x4 tree; sizzix : fence; bosskuts: Easter Eggs) embossed with cuttlebug embossing folders: swiss dots, Victoria.

I hope these little boxes give you some Easter ideas. Thanks for stopping by...

Girls of Summer

Hi all...Now that summer has officially turned to autumn, (HEAR that -it's AUTUMN so quit with the 30+ degrees days already!!! and a bit of rain would be nice!!!! )and I thought I really should get myself into gear and sort out some of the summer beach photos I have taken of the children. The photo in this layout isn't the most artistic or skillful - I don't think it is even entirely in focus - but I really loved the colours and the feel of it. I snapped the girls on their boogie boards while they were chatting and looking out for the next big wave. It gave me a feeling of vibrant colour and youth, so I reached for the wonderfully colourful My Little Shoebox papers and this was the result...

I really wanted to keep this page feeling clean and fresh so I put down the inks, put away the paper distresser and hid the kindyglitz and sandpaper. I did a little doodling along the edges of the page though, as it looked naked to me LOL. The circular diecut is MLSB from the Imaginary Friends range. The backing page is the reverse side of a piece of Crate paper (peacock). The flowers and butterflies are handcut from a piece of MLSB All in a Flutter - Flutterbys paper. Underneath all that handcuttness (LOL) are some Prima say it in Crystals. The acetate strip is a piece of Screen Prints Vintage Plaid that has been die cut using a sizzix scallop border. The title is Carolee's Creations, and the journal box is a Kaisercraft stamp Journal Boxes.
I'll be back in a couple of days with an Easter OTP that I have done for the M2A DT so stay tuned folks!

Thanks for stopping by... Hugs C xx

2 Quick Cards and a Make n Take

Hey all...again the weekend thief snuck up behind me and stole it away before I can blink!!! Not a lot of 'me' time this week - I completed a couple of DT projects which I can't share yet :(  so I thought I would post a couple of quick cards, and a make n take project I did at my LSS Scrapbooks From The Heart (SFTH)

First, the cards:

This features my new quickutz 4x4 monarch butterfly die (I sooo have a thing for butterflies!!!), quickutz curly flourish border die, and basic grey paper.

This one has a handmade flower, and hand stitching all the around the card (that was probably one of the most time consuming decisions I have ever made!!) The paper is cosmo cricket.

This is the make and take I made at SFTH. The lovely Jenae had the basic design all ready to go, using sizzix sizzlit dies and a cuttlebug embossing folder. I took it home then had a weeee little play with it, inking up some collections butterflies and adding some kindyglitz (yeah, I know, I'm a glitz addict).

And a quick kissy for my friend Wendy who has had her first LO considered for publication *mwah* well done chicky!!

Now you are 11 - Things to do before you are 12

Hi all. Well, my middle child turned 11 recently and I have to ask - where HAS the time gone? I still see her as this little ball of energy that used to run around dressed like her favourite princess of the day!! Like all good middle children, she has her moments (or, as we prefer to call it, middle child syndrome) Our son is the youngest, and is still little and cute and the only boy, Ashlee is our eldest, a teenager, quiet, gentle and mature for her age, and is growing into a stunning young lady, and Jess slots into the middle - she's very intelligent and has a big heart and sometimes torn between being big and being small.
When Tracy over at My 2 Angels gave us free reign on the design team this month, I thought I would make good use of that and make something that was a celebration of Miss J and the things tweens can do (and still get away with doing).
It is chock full of all things bright and beautiful, just like her. I have used lashings of crackle paint and rock candy, inks, ribbons and flowers, chipboard and I have made my own word tiles using Making Memories Abby Words paper, chipboard, ink and rock candy. The butterflies are a free butterfly computer font printed onto cream cardstock, watercoloured then coated with rock candy, and the little chipboard croc head was hand cut, inked and coated with rock candy.

First March DT

This is my first DT for March for My 2 Angels (click the linky to see what the DT have started off with this month)  I found these photos of our cat Lily when she was a little kitten and thought they were too cute not to scrap...

This very naughty little kitty had a bad habit of stealing prima flowers off my desk and eating them, and one night I caught her in the act!!! For this layout I used the fabulous Kaiser Waterberry Delicious paper and the Kaiser Waterberry Enticing paper to create the layered flowers. I took a strip from the Enticing paper and curled it ion a corkscrew and placed next to the largest flower. I stamped the little butterfly onto white cardstock using versamark watermark and embossed it with clear powder. I coloured it using watercolour pencils and a waterbrush to get the resist effect. The antennae are beading wire with seed beads. The main photo is mounted onto chipboard then I have painted around the edge and onto the edge of the photo with picket fence crackle paint.

Ahhh she was so little then! She still steals the odd flower... and piece of ribbon... and seems to be really fond of my bucket of buttons!

Materials Used:
White cardstock,
Tim Holtz crackle paint - picket fence,
AC Thickers - Jewelry Box
Versa Color Ink Cubes - Rose Red & Sage,
Versamark stamp pad - watermark,
sparkle embossing powder
Stampendous Perfectly Clear Stamps - flutterfly friends,
flower stamp,
silver beading wire,
green and red seed beads
a piece of scrap tulle.

Thank you for having a mosey on thru and for all the lovely feedback I have been receiving...it's great to know you are out there :-)
