A LO using Fabric?

Hey ho everyone. I have been a busy girl, working away on some classes and some DT layouts, but still found time to sneak a LO in just for me. I have had a bee in my bonnet about doing a LO using fabric ever since I picked up a beautiful fabric flower embellie from my local scrap store Scrapbooks From The Heart. Ta dah! Here is what I created!

These are the out-takes of the photos I tried to get my naughty girls to pose for on Mother's Day this year...trying for a wistful feel and all they gave me was giggles.

The little dragonfly is one of  my polymer clay creations...You like?

The key charm and circle pendant charm are both from Tracy's My 2 Angels web based store...( linky linky).

The background is green satin and coffee coloured organza, with a little rope of tiny weeny faux pearl wrapped around it. The fuzzy stuff is the leftover threads from the green satin where I have frayed the edges.

The flower that sparked the idea of the page, from Scrapbooks from the Heart.. (clicky here)...isn't it sooo yummy?

Hope you all liked this LO as much as I do...and I have some sneaky peeks at my card and kids classes for this month coming up soooooon. x

Some of the many cards on my to-do list...

Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by :-)
Today I have 3 cards to share that I made from some of the scrummies in the My 2 Angels DT pack for June. I tried to keep them along a similar theme so they would stand together as a group - using bright jewel coloured cardstocks, the same background paper and at least one element consistent throughout (in this case, the black acrylic diamonte flower chain)...here are the results...

I followed Taryn's tutorial Paper Bag Flowers to make the rose centre, and Wendy's tutorial Felt Flower to make the tulle flower at the very back. (Have a look in HERE to see how). The white crochet flower is one I made ages ago.

I drew the shoe shape onto thick chip card then covered it with the lovely websters paper. The background dot effect is a cuttlebug dots embossing folder.

I cut a frame out of the Websters Paper Life's Portrait Reflections, then used the other dotty side for the card. The butterfly is cut out of one of the ATC cards available in store, and it's wings have been edged with diamond dust. The scroll is half a black rhinestone flourish.

Hope your week is as happy and productive as mine needs to be LOL.

A little rainbow...

Hi Bloggers... <3
Brrrr hasn't it been chilly!!!  Winter is well and truly here in good ol' Wait Awhile. Amid the frenetic pace of end of school term things and mid-year wind ups of stuff, I made this fun little canvas piece for my study out of my My 2 Angels DT pack.

This Love Blooms canvas was made using 5 different coloured glimmer mists, a plain white 4 x 6 inch canvas, some naked chipboard embellishments, some My 2 Angels Petite Silver Frame Charms, and some Adorn It tiny black letter tiles.

I sprayed the plain canvas with 4 different glimmer mists - denim blue, honeydew, pink taffy and yellow daisy. While that was drying, I misted a scrapware vine with black magic glimmer mist (on the naked chip it went a gorgeous dark grunge gold colour), a scrapware bird on a branch, and a scrapware snail from the bugs set with black magic and denim blue mists. The Buzz and Bloom flowers were from the arboretum set, and they were also misted.

I have oooodles of cards to make, so I must dash - and keep and eye out for my cards popping up around here soon... :-)

Take care and stay warm lovelies x

June Card Class

Hey all... I thought I would pop on and share with you the cards my ladies made at my June Card class this month at Scrapbooks From The Heart. Again, the girls did an awesome job, finishing all four cards.

A special little shout out of thanks to my teen daughter Miss A for coming along to be my assistant. She made cuppas, washed brushes, tidied tables and cleaned stamps for me. Thanks hun. xx

Keep and eye out for my July class sneaks coming soon....

Sisters

Hi everyone. Sorry it's been a little while since I have blogged but sometimes real life just gets so busy (and a little crappy) and blogging got put on hold.

First a share...here is my latest My2Angels DT layout (soz Tracy, finally got to put it up today!!)...it's called Sisters..

This layout is one of my two girls together at our local park. I took these pictures on Mother's Day afternoon this year, after I got a bee in my bonnet about having some fun shots of my girls together before they are both stinky grunting teenagers who won't look at the camera. They were still in their nice clothes from lunch but still ran around like idiots in the autumn leaves. I captured this one shot.
For this layout I have used Websters Lifes Portrait Pure Grace and Prima Flights of fancy - Ladybug papers. I fancy cut the very edge, butterfly and part of the scroll work from the Websters paper, being careful to keep it all in one piece. I coated this with rock candy to give it a crackly look and to give this a little bit more stability, and added just a touch of kindy glitz to the butterfly. I added peach and brown gardenias between the frame and the scroll work as they reminded me of the leaves in the background of the picture, and I randomly placed some loose rhinestones around the embellishments. (and yes, the leaves used to be white too until I attacked them with glimmermist..)
I lightly sanded the 'together' word charm to make the word really pop and adhered it to a white my2angels scalloped frame. I then sprayed the charm and frame with black magic glimmermist. I was really pleased with how easily the felt gobbled up the spray (not repellent at all), and the spray clung to the charm for a gorgeous effect. The frame and photo are mounted on the leftover Websters paper, and I used the entire piece of Prima paper as the background. I punched a circle centre out using a circle punch for the diamonte round ribbon slide. (I was very happy to find I had a punch the perfect size!!) and used the buckle as a frame for part of the title.
title: Carolee's Creations Adorn It tiny letter stickers, die cut title.
products: Tim Holtz rock candy, black magic glimmer mist, black ink, pink ink, kindy glitz

And now a little personal note... this week we farewelled our constant companion of 15 years - our gorgeous labrador Jack. Our Jack suffered major neurological damage after having a stroke, and we had to make the tough choice to end his suffering. Thank you to our lovely friends who have given us love and support during this time.
Sleep long and sleep well old boy. xxxx

Take care, C x

My Little Guy...he is our world

Here it is, as promised.. the first of my June DT's for My 2 Angels (goodness...June DT shares already!!!)This is my little guy...he really makes our family complete. He brings an energy and spark that we dearly love.

For this page, I have used the lovely Websters Life's Portrait paper, one side as a backing for the my2angels scroll felt frame - black, and the other side machine stitched to the black backing cardstock.

The tiny grey flowers with bling centres are also cut from this paper (centre of the circles) and glimmer misted with black magic, as were the lovely pristinely white leaves (hehehe). The lovely white canna lilies didn't escape my inking either - just a touch around the edges... I couldn't resist adding some gorgeous charms to the page, and the circle pendant has the word Love that I cut from the paper, stuck in then coated with crackle accents.
The title sits on a frame cut from the top left hand side of the paper (it has the words Life's Portrait originally in it). I have used lashings of rock candy and diamond dust (and a wee touch of kindy glitz) on this page to give the aged and whimsical feel.
Products Used:
misc - maya road leaf pins
Hope you enjoy this one too...I don't usually use Websters papers but I am very happy with how this LO turned out!
Til later...thanks again all the lovelies who stop by and leave comments :-)

Becky Fleck class - Floating Frame

Now that I have a bit more time on my hands I am catching up on the things I have wanted to blog but hadn't. First catch-up post is this one: the Websters Pages Floating Frame class I did at the Day with Becky Fleck. We had such a productive and creative day that I will not be able to fit all the projects we made into the one blog post, so I decided to break the posts up into 3 posts...1) Floating Frame 2) 3xSingle page layouts and 3) Collections Canvas.

Ta dah...presenting.... the completed floating frame....

I stayed pretty true to Becky's original design - I loved it so much - just a little tweak here and there to suit my eye (as you do) and a bit of inking (as the original frame was beautiful and pristine and clean looking). I just LOVE how this turned out!!! The frame and chippy bits are from twiddleybitz, the papers and gorgeous trims are Websters, and a few little gorgeous and touching extras in there are from Becky's own stash (the calico(muslin) from her hope chest, some of the buttons from her Grandma's jar, and the crocheted flower she made on the plane journey over!!! Bless her gorgeous soul!

Such a great day, and lovely projects (I will post the pages in a couple of days)...hope you enjoy looking at them as much as I did making them (with a little help from Becky of course LOL...)
